Prof. Tumanov V.A. was born on December 16, 1936 in the city. Kyiv. In 1966 he graduated from the Kyiv State Medical Institute named after O.O. Bogomolets with specialty in pediatrics. From 1966 to 1973 he worked at the Department of Pharmacology of the same institute as an assistant and associate professor. Since 1973, he worked as deputy head of education, then Chief of staff Education and social development of the MOH.
In 1991 he became the professor of Pharmacology at National Medical University and in 1993 he was the Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacy at Medical Institute UAFM, Since 1996, he is Rector of the University and became Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacy at UAFM MI
His research interest is in the field of cardiovascular drugs and scientific justification for use in medical practice and effective means of traditional and alternative medicine.
He is the author of 320 scientific works, including 4 patents, 13 monographs and textbooks.
He was awarded with the Badge of Honor in 1985, Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 1986, State Prize of Ukraine in 1986, and the Order for Development of Education in 2002.
1996 - Rector, and since 2007 - Honorary Rector and Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and farmatsmyi UAFM MI (2009 - UAFM KMU).
Research Interests - search and study of cardiovascular drugs and scientific justification for use in medical practice effective means of traditional and alternative medicine.
Member of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Peace Council, member of the Scientific Council in Kyiv mayor, a member of the scientific-methodical commission on higher education MES of Ukraine, member of the advisory board of the SAC Ukraine, Chairman of the expert committee SPC MoH Ukraine, head of the Kyiv regional coordinating council of private universities in Ukraine, a member of the Inter-University Centre research and collaboration eastern and south-eastern Europe, a member of the Advisory Bureau of the American Biographical Institute, an expert WHO medicines.
He was awarded the Order "Badge of Honor" (1985), Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (1986), State Prize of Ukraine (1986), the Order "For Development of Education" (2002), Excellence in Health Care, Excellence in Education.
